Having the proper motorcycle jackets and tires for the different seasons can make your riding a lot safer.
Motorcycle Track Tires
These tires are optimized for leaning into turns on slick tracks. They tend to be triangular in form to maintain contact with the road during the leans. These tires wear out quickly in the center if driven straight for any length of time because of this shape.
Motorcycle Sport Touring Tires
These tires are optimized for cross-country, straight driving. These are not safe for track racing because they would lose contact with the road during high-speed turns.
Motorcycle Street Tires
These tires are made for riding out the long-haul. Riders who put heavy street mileage on their tires prefer these. They do not do particularly well when swerving through traffic or around corners.
Motorcycle Street Sport Tires
Aggressive street riders who like to swerve in and out of traffic and make fast corners need street sport tires. They don’t last nearly as long as regular street tires. They do last much longer than track tires do for straight driving, but also don’t grip the road quite as well for turns.
